Fully Refund Mu battery on Backerkit

Hey Mu tag lovers,
We apologize for what happened on Backerkit system last weekend. Your credit cards will only be charged for what selected to buy in the add-on items. You can find what you brought through Backerkit by visiting: https://informu.backerkit.com/. If you believe there is an error, please try to find through your Backerkit survey first. If it still does not work, please message us through Kickstarter or Slack.
For the extra battery charge, we have resolved the issue with the Backerkit team. We have fully refunded the Mu battery money for all the backers who have paid for the extra battery during add-ons/pre-order and which you shouldn't be charged.
You may see a refund followed by a charge on your account. This is due to the Stripe payment system which does not allow us to refund one item individually. It refunds the order (including the extra battery) and recharges the amount on your account (excluding the battery).
For eg. : if you have paid $53.99 (including 1 extra battery which costs $4.99 you bought during add-on)
+ $53.99 (Cr) - $49 (Dr) = + $4.99(Cr) net in your account i.e refund for the battery
Furthermore, there are still 116 backers who didn't answer their Backerkit survey yet. Without filling the survey, we can't ship the rewards to you.
Also, there are 192 backers who pledged add-ons items through Backerkit and whose payment methods have failed. We have resent your surveys, so please check your credit card to make sure the payment process is not failed.If it is, you need to go and update the payment method so that the order could be completed and we could move forward with the next steps.

Manufacturer Selection & Design Update

Manufacturer Selection:
In recent weeks, our engineering team has toured numerous U.S. manufactures specializing in everything from molding and assembly to PCB manufacturing and packaging design. We are happy to announce that the Mu tag will be entirely made in the U.S., with most of our manufacturing partners located in our home state of Colorado! This gives us a greater sense of companionship with these partners, increased control over manufacturer audits, and a significantly shorter lead time on component sourcing and fulfillment. In short, this makes delivering on time much easier, and insures a higher quality product for our backers.
Single Piece Design:
We have decided to reiterate the Mu tag as a single module. This is primarily due to engineering blocks that would delay our manufacturing and delivery timeline up to three months. This change comes with a lot of benefits, and enables our engineering team to incorporate numerous improvements. Such improvements include better water resistance, longer battery life, and an even smaller form factor. Although this change means that the Mu tag batteries will no longer be replaceable, it will allow us to incorporate a larger rechargeable battery with significantly increased battery life.
The physical design remains practically unchanged, with the only functional difference being that the Mu tag will not separate from the battery unit. To accommodate this design change, slight alterations have been made to the Mu charger and Mu hub. We understand that this is a noticeable change in our product offering and that it will effect a decent portion of our backers’ preorders. Due to this, we will be refunding backers for any additional Mu tag batteries purchased.
Conclusion:
In short, this past month has presented several challenges regarding manufacturing and development, but our team has successfully navigated them and is still on track to deliver our ground-breaking product this December. The decision to alter our two-piece design will allow us to incorporate an array of new features and will allow us to fulfill our preorders on schedule. With beta units only a month away, and full scale manufacturing just around the corner, or team is more excited than ever before to bring the Mu tag to life. With that in mind, we would like to thank each and every one of you for believing in our product, and more importantly, in us.

Indiegogo, Betas, and Faster Delivery!

Quick check-in with everyone to let you guys know what is going on behind the scenes at Informu!
We launched our Indiegogo campaign last week, and are moving along nicely. That said, we greatly appreciate any support you guys can offer by sharing our project with your network! Betas are coming! We will be delivering 100 orders in early September, and will select the recipients through a lottery system run through Gleam, the same service which is hosting the contest mentioned above. Stay tuned for information on how to enter in the coming days! These beta units will give us the opportunity to collect valuable user feedback to make final adjustments before full scale delivery.
Speaking of delivery, we are planning to do it sooner: all backers (both Kickstarter and Indiegogo) will now have their orders in-hand by late December! To make this deadline possible, we have grown our team to include a manufacturing specialist and two new engineers. Additionally, we are finalizing sourcing and manufacturing contracts in the coming weeks. We are thrilled by the growth we have seen both internally with our team and externally through the backer community - your ongoing support means more than we could ever convey. BackerKit surveys are coming!

We will send an email with a special link to BackerKit surveys today.
It is important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information for fulfilling your rewards.
You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey, just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go! You will be able to answer questions about your rewards preferences, provide shipping information, and pledge for more “add-ons” if you'd like. You do not have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it anytime before we lock down the surveys for processing.
